Industry Learning
The Industry Learning portfolio was established in 2012 based on the need for skills and capacity in the payments industry. PASA has embraced its responsibility as a key role player to build a strong foundation of payment system knowledge and expertise. Three certificate programmes were run in-person until the pandemic, which facilitated the pivot to online learning for the Certificate in Foundational Payments and the Advanced Certificate in Electronic Payments in 2021. The PASA Academy was launched in 2023 with three blended learning certificate programmes.
The PASA Academy currently hosts four programmes:
- Introduction to Payments is a seven week online only programme aimed at the basics of payments.
- The Certificate in Foundational Payments builds a bit further on the Introduction to Payments first online-only programme, including additional modules covering risk, regulation, interchange etc. In addition, this 12-week program offers a blended learning format with assessments virtual connect and Q & A sessions to support students on their journey to receiving their first certificate in payments.
- Both the Advanced Certificates in Electronic Payments and in High-Value Payments are 16 weeks long and offer the same blended learning format, which includes assessments and support from faculty and subject matter experts.
Content and delivery of programmes is possible due to the support of industry in the form of subject matter experts who help the Academy update programme content and deliver Connect and Q&A sessions.
Our flagship event, PASA International Payments Conference (PIPC) first launched in 2013 and has become a highlight on the payment industry calendar every two years. It is an opportunity for the international community to come together, exchange ideas, listen to new thought leadership and build new relationships.
