The invasion of the Ukraine by Russia has led to sanctions against specific Russian banks and individuals. One of these sanctions is removing sanctioned Russian banks from the Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunications (SWIFT) network. PASA CEO, Ghita Erling recently did a radio interview on TalkRadio 702 to discuss the impact that the banning of Russian banks from SWIFT and other efforts, particularly the freezing of Russian foreign funds, could have on Russian access to foreign currency assets.
